Renting An Apartment In San Jose, Spain (Andalucia)

When we decided to look for an apartment in San Jose we weren’t sure what would be available to us, now that we have 5 dogs and everything. Well, fortunately for us, we have been incredibly well looked after by H.M.S from start to finish during our time here. The apartment they proposed was just what we were looking for: ideally positioned, comfortable and well appointed.


Prior to arriving everything was done by email. Because we were driving a long way we made the decision en route that rather than arriving and going through lots of viewings, we would put ourselves in the hands of H.M.S and trust them to meet the requirements we had outlined. They got it spot on.

Our particular apartment was on the eastern edge of the bay, facing westwards so that we got to enjoy the evening sunsets over the hills above San Jose, just like the picture at the top of this post. It was beautiful. 2 bedrooms, 2 large terraces overlooking the sea, a spacious and comfortable living room, kitchen and bathroom with a shower, all for a very reasonable rate. And, just as importantly, Carmen at H.M.S was incredibly helpful and friendly to us throughout our stay. She was also very flexible when we decided to extend our time here, when arranging check-in/check-out times and such and also very helpful in receiving a couple of items of mail we needed from the UK. Although Carmen herself only speaks a little English, an English colleague was often on hand to field enquiries via email, and when meeting Carmen in person it was another example that smiles and body language can speak louder than words. Speaking to other people we know who were also renting through H.M.S, including Esther’s parents who rented an amazing sea-view house right above the harbour, they reported a similar experience and I have no reservation in recommending that anyone considering a stay in San Jose get in touch with them.
