Our First Fun Packed Fortnight In San Jose, Nijar.....What We've We Been Up To....

It's been just over 2 weeks since we moved from our motorhome into a wonderful apartment in San Jose.  We knew straight away it was the right decision for us to return back to Cabo de Gata, even though we had initially been wary about returning to the same area we'd spent 2 months last year.  It's not been a lazy time, like for some, but instead we've packed a lot in.  It's very different from motorhome touring as having the extra space makes basic things like washing, preparing food, getting ready for bed etc take a lot less time. So what have we been using that extra time for .....

Mostly we have been using that time to read, discuss and work on things that we are increasingly becoming very passionate about (you may have noticed some changes to our blog in the last couple of weeks like the change in focus).  Dan has also enjoyed having a stable based and an inspirational setting to spend some more concentrated time on his writing.

But there has been time for exercise and moving our body.....  jogs along the cliff tops just as the sunsets, turbos and moving onto the 'max' part of the Shaun T Insanity programme!

We met the lovely Nina, who runs SanJoseSpain.com from whom we are renting our apartment, playing Padel at Los Escullos campsite last year and this year she has introduced to a British couple who organise a twice-weekly Padel club (Mon and Wed) to brings other holiday makers together.  There's a session at the local park court but the setting for the court at the San Jose harbour was just amazing.

 

We've been getting to meet up with old friends who we'd gotten to know at Camping Los Escullos last year who we bumped into whilst shopping at the weekly Sunday market......

After several hours spent behind computers, it's a lovely setting to unwind and enjoy a quick stroll in the fresh air around San Jose......

 

And even the wonderful Playa de Genoveses is a 15 minute walk from our apartment!  It felt wonderful to be back......

We took complete break from our new apartment routine and went hiking for an entire day, repeating the absolutely stunning coastal walk from San Jose to Monsul (click to see the amazing pics)......

We've been invited to dinner by some friends we've been reunited with from last year (another motorhome couple who have chosen to rent a house from SanJoseSpain.com as well!) and we've even gotten involved with a local pub quiz!  (How many answers can you get right from these two picture rounds.......!!)

Been amused by continuing to find new members of the recycling bin gang .........

In addition, we've been using the internet access to catch up with friends and family at home as well as sort out some admin , emails and paperwork that needed dealing with.....

And very much been enjoying having a big kitchen to prepare some favourite and new recipes to eat in (mostly) the sun!

So we've crammed a lot in..... wonder what the next few weeks has in store for us!!
